Our family had a lot of places for gardening, but with a lot of small trees, bushes and stones. But we dreamed of having our own apple orchard where we could grow and harvest our own fresh apples. After much planning and preparation, we decided to take on the project of planting our own apple orchard.
The first step was to choose the perfect location for the garden. We needed a place with lots of sunshine and good drainage, so we settled on two spots at the back of their yard. My family and a friend spent a few weekends clearing the area, removing any rocks and weeds that might have hindered the growth of the apple trees.
We then found some young apple trees at the local Home Depot store. We have selected many different varieties of apples so that they have a wide variety of flavors and colors.
When we brought the trees to the site, we carefully dug holes and planted each tree, making sure they had enough room to grow.
As the trees began to grow, we worked hard to ensure they received the nutrients they needed to grow. We added fertilizer to the soil, watered the trees regularly, and watched for any signs of disease or pests.
We hope that over time the apple trees will be taller and stronger. In the spring they will produce beautiful flowers that will turn into small green apples during the summer. As the apples grow and mature, we look forward to seeing and waiting for the perfect time to pick them.
We are waiting for the day when the apples are ready to be harvested. We’ll take the baskets and go to the garden. We will carefully pick each apple, trying not to damage the tree or the fruit. We have created something really special – our own apple orchard, which will not only be a place to grow fruit, but also a place to create memories and bring people together.
