Once upon a time, our family bought a homestead with a large backyard, lots of trees and open space. We loved being outdoors and always dreamed of a backyard pond. After some time of accumulating money and planning, we finally decided to take on the project of digging our own pond.
The first step was to choose the perfect location for the pond. We wanted to make sure it was in a location where they could easily see it from their home and get plenty of sunlight during the day. After much deliberation, we stopped at the foot of a small hill, surrounded by trees, from which a small stream flows.
Then we started digging, but quickly realized that digging the pond turned out to be much more difficult than we thought. We started with shovels, but it was too long, and we soon realized that we needed something heavier. We bought an excavator, which greatly simplified and speeded up the process.
Digging deeper and deeper, the excavator bumped into old trees, making digging difficult. But we persevered, taking breaks when we needed to rest and working together as a family to get the job done. We spent several hours digging, removing dirt and old trees, and shaping the pond to the right shape and size.
As soon as the hole was dug, the pond began to fill with water, and we watched as it slowly filled up. We plan to add rocks and plants around the edges to create a natural environment.
Our whole family was delighted with the finished product. We have created our own backyard oasis with a beautiful pond. We plan to spend countless hours enjoying the pond, watching the fish swim and listening to the soothing sound of the water. It was very hard, but in the end it was worth it.
